SIXTH FORM

FROM THE HEADS OF SIXTH FORM

Dear Parents,

The students who took part in the Lions Club Swimarathon in January have been invited to the Awards Evening at Cox Green Community Centre on Friday 29 April 2016 at 6.30 pm. The awards will be presented by Hon Theresa May and we will be receiving the award for the most money raised - £835.60. We will also receive a cheque for half that amount made out to our current Sixth Form charity, Food Share Maidenhead. The accompanying staff members are hoping for the opportunity of a chat to Theresa May!

Best wishes,

Andy Giles

DRAMA TRIP

Students were inspired by two excellent theatre productions in London on Wednesday 20 April. They saw a matinee performance of 'Nell Gwynn' at the Apollo in the afternoon followed by 'The Maids' at the Trafalgar Studios. This was an unusual production in a contemporary adaptation and the students found it both witty and entertaining. They were delighted to meet the actress, Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne Warren ('Crazy Eyes'), an inmate at the Litchfield Penitentiary. Both of these performances will be of benefit when answering the theory questions in their drama examinations.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH PRESENTATIONS

Colette Ferguson, Mai Hennessey, Arjun Amlani, Cameron Hobbs and Tom Williams gave an interesting presentation on Thursday evening at the Senior Boys site satisfying one of the pre-requisite tasks in the Silver Award. They talked about their recent expedition to The New Forest which was both witty and informative. It included videos to show what to expect if you visit The New Forest. Well done to all these students who intend to progress now to the Gold Award.
