The Caduceus and Hermes
The Connection with Greek Mthology
The caduceus is known as the iconic symbol of medicine and healthcare. In Greek Mythology the caduceus was known to be the staff of Hermes. In ancient Mythology Hermes was known to have the staff with him wherever he went. The caduceus was a gift to Hermes from his father Zeus. Legend has it that it split two snakes that were fighting and once they entwined themselves around the staff they looked at each other with peace. In mythology snakes would symbolize regenerating and healing. Who new right? That back then snakes used to represent something good. And now, based upon its usage in the mythological era now it represents the people that help take care of our health every single day 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
