GUEST INSTRUCTORS VISIT OUR CLASSES
We are so fortunate to have several guest instructors attending our classroom bands to help us prepare for our upcoming LGPE performances. We thought you’d like to know about the incredible talent that is working with your students.
Dr. Daniel Kirk
Dr. Kirk is the Director of Bands at Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA. He earned his Master of Music in Wind Conducting from Northwestern University in 2015 and his B.S.E. in Instrumental Music Education, Piano Performance Emphasis, in Fall 2007.
Mr. Josh Ray
Mr. Ray is the Director of Bands at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, GA. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Music Education with a concentration in Trumpet from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Ray has experience as a performer with Southwind (Trumpet) and Madison Scouts (Mello) Drum and Bugle Corps. He student taught with David Gorham at the nationally acclaimed Owasso High School Band program, a Sudler Flag of Honor program.
We are grateful to all of these fine teachers who share their time and skills with our students!
LEADERSHIP APPLICANT REMINDER
If your student is applying for a leadership role, they have been requested to assist Mr. Moon and Mr. Long at our recruiting events called “Experience the Band” at the feeder schools next week.
Note: We are going to both middle schools on the same day at the same time!
Students are responsible for their own transportation. Parents: please offer to drive students there and back if your schedule permits.
Elkins Pointe MS – Thursday, 2/27, event runs from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m.
Crabapple MS –Thursday, 2/27, event runs from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m.
NEED FOUR MORE DRIVERS ON 2/27
We need two parents to help us drive students to each middle school on Thursday, 2/27 DURING school hours. (Unfortunately, we had to cancel our event on 2/20 because we didn’t have enough volunteers.)
We are going to be sitting down alongside of our middle school students to help them prepare for the LGPE concert. This is such a great leadership opportunity for our RHS students, and we want to make sure everyone interested in attending can get there. It’s a very quick event. Thank you!
Thursday, 2/27 @ 11:00 PM-1:30 PM- Round-trip to Elkins Pointe

BAND ROOM SUPPLIES NEEDED
We could use a few cleaning supplies in the band room, especially during flu and cold season. If you have any extras at home, please ask your student to bring them in. It helps a lot. Thank you!
Paper towels
Tissues
Hand sanitizer
Clorox wipes
Disinfecting spray (Lysol)
BAND BOOSTER UPDATES
To our fellow band family:
We did it! Our very own trailer has arrived. It’s a beautiful 53’ long drop deck trailer. As we head into spring we will be putting decals on it and building out the inside with custom shelves and storage. The goal is to have it ready in time for our 2021 Marching Band, Classroom Bands and other programs such as Indoor Drumline and Winter Guard. This will be lasting legacy for the band for decades to come. This is the result of two years of planning, hard work and our Jeep Raffle!
Thank you, everyone!

TREASURER NEEDS ASSISTANCE
We are looking for some “Charmers” to help with Charms and monies on Fridays. If this is something you can help with, please email Aimee at: treasurer@roswellband.com
WE HAVE A YouTube CHANNEL!
The Roswell High School Band YouTube channel is now operational. Right now, all comment capabilities are turned off on the videos. YouTube doesn't allow us to change to our own custom Channel URL until we have:
1. 30 days of existence as a channel
2. 100 Subscribers to the channel
As you poke around on here, remember to subscribe yourself! As we begin to post content from here on Facebook or other outlets, we should solicit for people to subscribe as well. Let’s get 200 subscribers by March 1! The sooner we get enough subscribers, the faster we can create our custom URL!
