Principal's Message
Dear Fammatre Families,
It was wonderful to see many of our students and families here on Saturday night for the Family Dance. Thank you so much to Kristin Weitz and our Home & School Club for coordinating a wonderful, fun filled evening!
In other news, it is the time of year when we actively seek critical input via surveys from our students, staff and families. Participation in these surveys is important so that we can ensure our school and district Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals are revised and developed with stakeholder input in mind. Next week, students in grades 3-5 will be asked to participate in a climate survey during class. Please read this letter about the survey School Climate Survey Parent Notification Letter in English and School Climate Survey Parent Notification Letter in Spanish. In the coming week I will be sending out the LCAP survey for parents and staff. I thank you in advance for taking time to provide input.
Some families have reached out with questions regarding extended care programs before and/or after school next year. This morning Dr. Andrews, Cambrian School District Superintendent, sent information out to families regarding the start-up of Cambrian’s Extended Care Program for the 2020-21 school year. In case you missed it, here is the link: https://www.smore.com/h4g2a-cambrian-extended-care-program?ref=email-content#w-0977763661 As additional information on the extended care program becomes available, we will share it with families.
A friendly reminder to everyone that school starts at 8:05 each day. We have seen an increase in students arriving late to school over the last several weeks. Please help your child start their day off right by being in class on time.
Warmly,
Jackie Smith
Principal

Let Me Run Program Information and Registration Details
We are excited to start a new program at Fammatre for 4th-5th grade boys, Let Me Run. Similar to the already thriving Girls on the Run program, Let Me Run is a 7-week wellness program aimed at boys to inspire them to be themselves, be active, and belong. With a comprehensive curriculum that applies the power of running, we encourage boys to develop their psychological, emotional, and social health, in addition to their physical health. The program prepares all boys to run in the Willow Glen 5K on Saturday, May 9th, at 9 am (arrival at 8:15 am.) It is co-coached by Fammatre parents Heather Harper and Jen Everett. Practice times and days are Tuesday and Friday 2:45-4:00 pm starting Tuesday, March 17th.
Space is limited to 14 boys. Registration is open on a first-come, first-serve basis starting Monday, February 10th at 9:00 am. Register here: (https://siliconvalley.letmerun.org/teams)
**If you're interested in being a volunteer for any of the practices, please email Heather Harper (heather.harper@gmail.com) as soon as possible!

Fammatre Walkathon - Friday May 15th
The Sponsorship Recruitment phase of the 2020 Fammatre Falcon Walkathon is underway! If you have a connection with a business (or two!) that you think may like to help financially sponsor the Walkathon (May 15th), please let me know and I would be happy to work with you on the best way to reach out to them. We have varying levels of sponsorship opportunities available for businesses.
Lastly, if you would like your family to be recognized as a "Family Sponsor," for $100 your family name will be printed on the back of all event t-shirts. Note: Family Sponsorship does not count towards your student's total amount of funds raised for incentives/prizes.
This year our focus will be on raising funds for a new playground near the solar panels on the back field as well as continuing the Starting Arts program in each classroom.
We are excited for our 2020 Walkathon!
