Halloween Fun at McKinley
Costume Parade Excitement
This fun annual tradition kicked off with a performance from the 4th/5th grade Dance Team, then students shared their costumes while parading around the track, and the event concluded with a staff MarioKart race and whole school dance party!
Harvest Festival Spectacular
The McKinley Harvest Festival was lots of fun, with tasty Trunk-or-Treat cars hosted by each classroom, a grooving dance party, and a spooky Haunted House in the Auditorium with 5th graders as volunteer scarers. A Roar Out to the Harvest Festival Chairs Lizeth and Lauren, Haunted House Chairs Keve and Lindsey, Room Parents who coordinated the class cars, PTA Exec Board, and all the volunteers who made this special event happen!
Talent Show Sign-up
It's time for the McKinley Talent Show! Students are invited to show off their talent in dancing, singing, playing an instrument, acting, magic, gymnastics and more! Students who don't have an act, may sign-up to be in the Opening Act which will be choreographed by McKinley teachers. All acts have a time limit of 1.5 minutes, and students may be in 1 act only, so that everyone has a chance to shine. Attendance at all three rehearsals is required in order to participate. Save the date for the show on November 18th at 6pm in the Auditorium!
The Deadline for the Permission Slip and Sign Up is November 5th 6pm.
Parent Teacher Conference Week
This week are Parent/Teacher Conferences. At your conference the teacher will share information about how your child is progressing at this point in the year. The teacher will provide a Progress Report Form that will share how your child is making "little progress," "some progress," or "good progress" in ELA, Math, Personal/Social Growth, and Work Habits. The teacher will also review the comments section of the Progress Report, and will discuss your child's areas of strength, areas of growth, and strategies to support your student at home and at school.
Report Cards with scores will go home in the winter on February 3rd and in the spring on June 12.
