Earlier this month, the Board of Trustees adopted a new vision statement for our district. The vision statement developed by our board is a part of our strategic planning initiative we will use to move the district forward. The new vision statement “Growing empowered, future-ready students prepared for a lifetime of opportunity and success,” embodies the fertile soil that makes Tipton a leader in agriculture, while embracing the world that is yet to come and the careers not yet invented.
In the spirit of our new vision statement, plans are ramping up to break ground on the construction of the corporation’s greenhouse in the near future. This new amenity will serve as a year-round classroom providing limitless teaching and learning experiences. It will also be equipped to support our agricultural studies and FFA program as well as serve as a shared resource for community involvement and impact opportunities.
To help bring this project to life, an exceptional committee, represented by members of the community, Friends of Tipton FFA, and TCSC staff, was created. They are spearheading the effort from beginning to end including working to raise the needed funding through grants and donations. The Friends of the Tipton FFA, Inc. will collect, manage, and distribute funding for the project. We will be rolling out more on the TCSC Greenhouse Initiative shortly to give everyone throughout the greater Tipton County area the opportunity as we grow this exciting project.
Speaking of spring, the warmer weather (with the exception of this week), also brings with it more activity outside around our buildings, bus stops, and bus routes. Please keep this in mind especially during student arrival and dismissal times. You may also notice an increased presence from our partners at the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department. They have stepped up patrols along our school bus stops and routes to serve as a reminder for motorists to slow down, be more aware of the presence of children, and help reduce stop-arm violations. This initiative is all a part of a special program funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We appreciate a strong community effort to ensure our students arrive to and from school safely.
Wednesday was National Administrative Professionals Day. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who serves in this essential role throughout our corporation. Our administrative roles are incredibly diverse and those who serve in them invaluable to our operations. These professionals often represent the first impression of Tipton Community School Corporation to those coming into our school buildings and administrative offices.
These professionals work closely with our administrators, educators, staff, families, and community to ensure our schools are welcoming, organized, and efficient environments for learning. While much of their work is often done behind the scenes, their dedication and contributions do not go unnoticed, and they are deeply appreciated. Thank you for going above and beyond.
As we move through the final four weeks of the school year, I would like to take a moment to extend our appreciation for your supporting our teachers and schools during these trying times. Our teachers and staff are sincerely committed to providing our students with inspiring, engaging, and high quality education, in all circumstances, but it really takes the whole community supporting these efforts for the best outcomes. On behalf of the TCSC School Board and all TCSC employees, thank you for your support and partnership. It has made an impactful difference this past year. #TiptonPride
