Grades K-2: Literacy Lessons
First graders have been exploring story elements including setting, characters and plot. We have especially enjoyed author Doreen Cronin's books such as Click, Clack, Boo!
Second graders have been discussing new fiction series and exploring informational text. Some series favorites include Critter Club, Baseball Park Mysteries and Mercy Watson.
Grades 3- 5: Book Selection Strategies
Third Graders are working on their "library license" to locate books in all sections of the library, using the Destiny e-catalog. We have been exploring biographies and informational text.
We have sampled many books and will have an upcoming book-tasting.
Upcoming Book Tasting:
A book tasting is a selection of books organized by genre such as mystery, fantasy, biography, so students "sample" many books with the goal of trying new genres.
Technology Connections
Hour of Code is coming the week of December 3-9.
We are integrating these technology resources with our literacy and inquiry activities...
