Types of Speeches
Manuscript
This method of speech is used when speakers write down everything they plan to say to their listeners, then bring their script with them and read directly from it to the audience. There is no danger is forgetting what to say, and makes you sound well prepared. It is great to use when you have to deliver a speech with important information that must be word for word.
Memorization
It begins with a pre-written script and is memorized word for word but is not used in the delivery of the speech. There is once again no danger of what knowing what to say. Its great to use when giving presentations in class.
Extemporaneous
In this speech method the speaker will prepare an outline of ideas for their script before hand. They can choose what they want and don't want to use in their speech, which allows for a much natural speech. They can also change their direction of the speech according to audience feedback. This is great for presidents or professional people to use when giving speeches.
Impromptu
This method involves no preparation, so the speakers must organize and carefully say their ideas as they give the speech. This sounds the most natural and you can easily impress the audience. It is great to used when receiving a reward and you just want to speak from your heart.
