EMMETSBURG DISTRICT MISSION
The mission of the Emmetsburg Community School District is to prepare responsible and productive citizens for an ever changing world by utilization of our total resources through a partnership of the family, school, and community.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten has had a busy month! They worked with a 3Dux kit to make Santa a new sleigh. They also used popsicle sticks to build reindeer. Ag in the Classroom came and talked about the difference between gardeners and farmers.
Kindergarten Readiness
Readiness students enjoyed recess in the gym on chilly mornings! It is a great time to work on our gross motor and social emotional skills. Plus, it was lots of fun!
Preschool
Preschool recently visited the Nature Center and learned about deer, caribou, and elk. They also walked on the trail and saw many deer track and enjoyed the winter wonderland that nature had to offer.
4th Grade
Fourth graders have had some time to practice measuring with yardsticks. They measured across the lunchroom to see how many yards wide our lunchroom is. They also had an Ag in the Classroom speaker that spoke on the top three states that produce different commodities that are used in foods that we eat.
3rd Grade
Third graders enjoyed bubble gum with books for our last PBIS celebration. They enjoyed reading with first grade students.
1st Grade
First graders have had a great time enjoying some holiday fun with some holiday attire.
Second Graders
2nd graders enjoyed learning more about coding in the month of December. They also had a speaker for Ag in the Classroom that spoke on thinking like an engineer. Students enjoyed making some ornaments by coloring on a cup that they later baked and flattened.
