3-27-2020 Teleschool Updates
Dear Hillside Community,
We've made it through week #2 of Teleschool! Congratulations to you and your students! I just want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and effort throughout this period. We all recognize that this isn't easy, and there will be growing pains along the way. However, I am confident that we will get to a place of greater ease. Please continue to give grace to our teachers as they continue to acquire and utilize new skills required for Teleschool. I am so proud of the work that they are doing, and I can assure you, they are working diligently, collaborating, and finding ways to deliver appropriate and engaging learning experiences for our students. Please continue to provide feedback! Your experience is important to us!
Again, thank you!
Note from Ms. Dewey, Counselor
Blessings in a Backpack: Families receiving Blessings can pick up their bag at the old Kohls parking lot (across from Centennial High School) on Monday from 12:00-1:00.
During this time away from school, it is so important for students to maintain a schedule and be responsible. Take a look at my video where I discuss the Keys to Responsibility. Feel free to check out the other videos on my YouTube channel as well (there are some videos of the baby chicks we have). Please call, email or text if you or your child are in need of my support! 678-327-5847 or firstname.lastname@example.org
As a parent navigating this new terrain, it may understandably feel overwhelming for you. Hopefully this graphic will provide some thoughts to consider to help ease your mind!
Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration
We are still awaiting details for registration. We are meeting with district leadership next week to learn more. Information will be available as soon as we know.
Spring Break is still being observed. April 6-10, students and staff will be on Spring Break. Assignments will not be provided or expected from FCS.
Extended School Closure
The Governor announced yesterday that all Georgia public schools will be closed until at least April 24th.
The Hillside teacher created lesson plans are listed below for our on- level students. For all past resources and information, please see the previous week's Pawprints, linked at the bottom.
Meals for Students/Work Packets
The district has now added additional meal sites for our students. Beginning Monday, families can pick up breakfast and lunches from Esther Jackson Elementary, Holcomb Bridge Middle, or Haynes Bridge Middle School (11am-1pm) according to location or preference. FCS- created work packets will also be available for families that prefer paper copies during the same times.
Student Device Needs
Parents/Guardians, if you are in need of a laptop to checkout for your 3rd-5th grade student, please email Dr. Dumas email@example.com or respond to this message. Please include your student's name, teacher, and grade level.
Teleschool Feedback Request
We aim to do our part to make Teleschool as smooth and helpful as it can be as we continue to learn together. Please take a moment to provide some feedback so that we can celebrate what's going well and improve where needed. Thank you!
