Teacher of the Month Mrs. Amy Satterfield
Education: I graduated with a B.A. in Communication Disorders from MTSU in 1997. I graduated with an M.S. in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Alabama A&M 2000.
Experience: I've worked in Lincoln County for since 1997 at various schools, but I've been at Flintville School since 2010. As a speech-language pathologist, I help students with speech, language, and communication skills in all grades.
Personal Information: I have been married to Troy for 22, and we have four children: Abigail, Jesse, Audrey, and Emily! We love to travel, watch movies, read, and bake chocolate chip cookies!
Academics
ELA: We have been reading Phineas Gage: A Gruesome but True Story About Brain Science. Some of the ELA skills we will be covering in this text are central idea, gathering and analyzing textual evidence, evaluating textual evidence for its reliability, analyzing point of view and developing our own point of view, and writing about the author's point of view and our own point of view regarding various topics throughout the text.
Math: In Math, the students are finishing up with percents and heading expressions and equations.
Science: Our seventh graders have been working very hard this school year. We began the year with the Periodic Table, chemical and physical changes, and states of matter. We are beginning to transition away from those standards and move towards parts of cells and body systems.
Social Studies: In Seventh Grade World History, students are studying life in Medieval Europe. Students will analyze the Battle of Hastings, they will know the impact of the Magna Carta and how it limited the power of the Monarch. Students will also begin to study The Crusades.

It's ANGEL TREE time again!
If you would like to apply for our Angel Tree program this year, please send an email to hevans@lcdoe.org by Nov 1st and an application will be mailed to you.
When we see how many sponsors we are going to have this year, we will mail you an acceptance or denial letter so you will have time to use another program.
Here at Flintville School, we are so fortunate each year to have offers of sponsorship from churches, teachers, school clubs, and community members. It’s our goal to serve everyone who applies. However, if the number of applicants is greater than the number of sponsors and you receive a denial letter, some other community options will be listed.
We are looking forward to another exciting holiday season and hope to help make yours a little brighter!
Reminder
If your student is in need of a warm jacket or shoes, send an email to me at hevans@lcdoe.org listing their sizes and I’ll get to work on it for you!
