Mrs. McElroy (Social Studies)
Mrs. Bellinger (Math)
Mrs. Bellinger's class was one of the most unique classrooms. Her class had no external windows to the outside so, she used lamp lights to compensate for lack of sunlight. She also positioned students' seating in the shapes of 2 "E's" facing each other with the 2nd "E" facing the opposite direction like the number 3. She walked the students through the classwork with overhead projector. Mrs. Bellinger had the students create a flip book which had formulas and examples so that students could review what they learned prior to spring break. Mrs. Bellinger also had a intervention class with 8 students. They used IXL to practice and bring them up to speed.
These students were very interactive. Cool math was used as an incentive to following directions and completing their work.Students used laptops to access Mobimax, Mango high, and other applications. They are able to listen to music while working on the computer as well. Mrs. Bellinger's methods of her environment and teaching were very unique but effective.
