Group Health Plan
Effective September 1, 2019, UnitedHealthcare® replaced Aetna® as the group health plan administrator. UnitedHealthcare ID cards were mailed to your home address for arrival prior to September 1, 2019. If you were previously enrolled in the Conroe ISD group health plan under Aetna, your provider should submit claims to Aetna for medical and pharmacy services incurred through August 31, 2019. Claims for services incurred on and after September 1, 2019, should be submitted to UnitedHealthcare.
Note: Group dental benefits and hospital indemnity benefits are still with Aetna.

Employee Speech Rights during Bond Elections
Everyone has an opinion about elections, and CISD employees are no different. When you are acting as a CISD employee, you can only share FACTUAL information about the bond election. As a private citizen, you can share your OPINION. Be sure you know the difference!
Below are some tips to help you comply with state law and exercise your First Amendment Rights.
In your capacity as a CISD employee, you can provide FACTUAL information about the bond by:
- block-walking;
- posting factual information on your professional social media account;
- putting factual information in the school newsletter;
- making factual information available at events at your school; and
- sharing facts when talking to or emailing your parents, staff, co-coworkers, and friends.
Just be sure that in your role as an employee, you are only providing factual information, and do not advocate “for” or “against” the bond.
As a private citizen, you can give your opinion and advocate “for” or “against” the bond by:
- block-walking;
- posting on your personal social media accounts;
- talking to or emailing from your personal account your family and friends;
- putting a campaign sign in your yard or a bumper sticker on your car;
- wearing a t-shirt or button advocating your position; and
- taking a personal day off from work or on the weekend to stand at a polling location.
When you are advocating, be sure you don’t use any CISD resources, like CISD facilities, your paid time, or CISD supplies and equipment.
