SPECIALS SCHEDULE
Aspiring ITS Course
Instructional Technology Summer Professional Learning Opportunities
Tech Tidbits: ActivPanel
When reserving the panel, under location, please write either the Pod or your classroom. If you want it in your room, no problem, give me a heads-up, though, as I won't be checking that calendar daily, but I will assist you in getting the panel to your room as it can be tricky. PDL required for driving the panel! (HA!)
Also, Stacie Jassen & Michael Cunningham are becoming experts on using the ActivPanel. If you have questions, let them or me know.
Tech Tidbits: Document Cameras
Need ideas? Kelly Jo Plante and Stacie Jassen have tried these out already!
Media Center Information
All student library books must be returned by Friday, May 11th. This allows ample time for inventory to be done as well as making sure all materials are returned prior to school being out.
Teachers: you are welcome to check out books until the last day of school, if necessary. However, if you are done with the books you have checked out, please return them when you get a chance. We appreciate you!
FCS Video Policy and Permission Form
To get administrator approval, visit itslearning > Midway Staff Information Course > County Video Policy/Permission Form folder. The video approval form is what you will complete and turn in to administrators. A word of advice....on the video approval form, it asks "Did you check to be sure our copyright license covers this movie? http://www.movlic.com/k12/studios.html" Go to that site and in the upper right corner, click on the magnifying glass. Choose K-12 schools from the pull-down menu and type the name of the movie in the search box. If the movie isn't labeled "Single Event License" it is covered by the copyright license.
**NetFlix and Amazon Prime Video terms of use do not allow for videos to be shown in schools. Violations of policies like this can be in the $250,000 range.
CAFE REMINDERS
Café Reminders:
-With testing going on this week & next, PLEASE make sure your lunch counts are in by 9am, as we will not be able to “bother” you. J
-Any time you don’t get it entered by 9:10am, please call or email it to us. Once Teresa logs in, it will not show up in the count. She pulls those at around 9:10 a.m. & we only have time to do that once each morning, (it’s a little time consuming on our end).
-It is definitely never too late to call or email your count, all the way up until your lunch period. We can’t express how much this helps us in being prepared when your kiddos come through the line.
-You are all amazing!!! And we appreciate all you do!!SAFETY TIPS
- Always WEAR your FCSS issued badge.
- Always keep exterior doors closed and secured. (No propping doors)
- Always travel within the building, except to recess and PE.
- Always keep classroom doors locked.
HELP NEEDED....PLEASE SEE TASKS BELOW THAT REQUIRE ACTION THIS WEEK.
***ALL TEACHERS AND STAFF***
AS GA MILESTONES TESTING IS OCCURRING, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL CHROMEBOOKS AND CHROMEBOOK CARTS MUST BE PLUGGED IN AND CHARGING BEFORE YOU LEAVE EVERY DAY.
The Spring F & P window opened April 16th. It runs through May 25th. Many of you may want to get started with some of the schedule changes due to Milestones Testing. As you begin this process, consider starting with your higher level students. This will allow more time for growth for our students reading at lower levels.
Be sure to input your student data on our Midway Spreadsheet (located in GoogleDocs Team Drive). In addition, we will upload Spring information in School City for the County. More details/reminders will be forthcoming regarding the uploads in School City.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need any help.
Moments of Mustang Might
Each week we want to highlight staff members who demonstrate the 7 Habits qualities.
When people make an impact on you, please share the moment so we can celebrate each other. Email Jen E by Friday at lunch time each week to highlight our teammates.
