Please help us spread the word. At the end of April we will hold our Kindergarten Round Up, April 24-28 between the hours of 8:00-2:00. Families with children turning five prior to September 1st are encouraged to register. Families providing current immunizations and copies of birth certificates receive a free bullpup t-shirt.
As we start looking toward the newness of next year I want to be sure our current Kindergarten families are aware we provide our Kindergarten students the opportunity to loop with their current teacher. This means your child will remain with their current teacher in first grade unless adjustments are needed to ensure well balanced classrooms. Creating balanced classroom takes into account the academic, social and behavioral needs of all students, with the intent to ensure an equitable learning environment for all our children.
Classroom teachers and staff spend a great deal of time working with our children to develop their skills in all areas. The personal relationships, along with the data collected, is considered in the process of creating balanced classrooms. We value your input, please share if you have academic, emotional or behavioral concerns, so your input can be considered when placing students. This does not include parent requests for specific teachers. We will begin the process of placing students for next year in May.
Sutherlin has very talented teachers who strive to work together to meet the needs of all our students. We appreciate your input and support to help us reach this goal. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns at 541.459.2912 or via email Beckie.lupton@sutherlin.k12.or.us.
