Child Nutrition Services Information

All students are entitled to a free breakfast and lunch for the 2023-2024 school year. Our lunch menu continues to be online. You can find both the breakfast and lunch menus HERE. You do have the ability to add any allergens through the link to ensure that if your student has any allergies, they know what to avoid. If your child has food allergies, be sure to fill out a medical exemption form that can be obtained in the office. This form must be signed by a physician.

Please see the letter below from Kursten Orr, our Child Nutrition Services Director.

Updates from the PTA

With the school year well underway, your BES PTA is very busy gearing up for some exciting events! We currently have 98 active PTA members, so we are almost a third of the way to meeting our goal of 300! Flyers will go out this week with details for our PTA Membership drive...the class or classes with the most active PTA memberships will win an ice cream party and the teacher of that class will win an Amazon Gift card!

Our big fall fundraiser "Monster Mash" is coming Saturday, October 21st from 2:00-6:00pm. This event requires LOTS of candy, so if you see some on sale or are taking a trip to Costco, please help us stock up! Hold on to that candy because later this month we will be running a candy drive and the class with the heaviest candy contribution will win an ice cream party!

Thank you for your support!

COVID update

Bonsall Unified School District has supplied two COVID test kits per student for our site. If you would like your child to retrieve the two kits, please come to the office to pick up your kits. These COVID tests are provided to you as a courtesy. Testing is not required by our district.

Although we are excited to have your child attend school everyday, when your child is sick, we do ask you to keep him or her at home. Specifically, if your child has tested positive for COVID, he or she should remain at home for five (5) days from the onset of symptoms or positive COVID test (if asymptomatic). Your child may return on Day 6, unless he or she remains sick. Masking upon return to school is not required by the District.

We wish you great health as we know the cold and flu season approaches, and encourage you to place special attention to taking practical steps to boost your student’s immune system by providing nutritious food, proper amounts of sleep, and good doses of exercise.

Counseling Corner with Ms. Newman

Hello everyone!

This month, Bonsall elementary has been working on habit 1 when it comes to Leader in Me which is to be proactive. Being proactive means taking control of your actions and reactions. You're in charge of you, and nobody else. You make your own choices when it comes to decisions. Proactive leaders value their friends and recognize the importance of varying viewpoints.

This week, there will be an assembly in the morning on September 29th to showcase students who have been proactive this week!!

Have a great week!

Ms. Newman

Important updates from the CDE

BUSD Families,

The California Department of Education passed legislation this past July that all school districts must remind parents and legal guardians of all students in the Bonsall Unified School District of their responsibilities for keeping firearms out of the hands of children as required by California law. Please take a moment to review the memo below.
