El Dorado Monday Memo
April 20th, 2020
#ToroFamily
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and hopefully got to enjoy some of the sunshine.
Thank you all for a great staff meeting on Thursday. Your energy and humor are contagious and I am very thankful for each and every one of you. Your adaptability, professionalism, and willingness to do anything to support our students is amazing to be a part of and witness.
Thank you to all of you who have completed your Tech Access sheet for each of your classes. If you haven't yet, please do so ASAP. We are also asking that you provide us with a summary of the level of engagement for each of your classes on a separate document. This has been assigned to you through our staff Google classroom. It is just taking the total numbers from the bottom of the chart for each of your periods and completing the chart. Please complete this ASAP.
Attached below is the newest district guidance for staff which we talked about on Thursday. Please take a minute to read and review. Many of the key points are from the latest MOU between MDEA and the district.
Key reminders from the MOU:
- Staff expected to check emails at least twice a day, Virtual office hours no less than one hour a day.
- 6th-8th Grade - 2.5 hours per week per content area
- 3rd quarter ended officially March 13th 2020, grades can be enhanced until April 30th. Revised grades due by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, May 8th.
- Students will be held harmless for 3rd quarter/2nd semester. Can not receive a lesser grade than when closure began.
- We will do progress reports for all students in danger of earning a No Credit mark.
- MDEA members get $75 to support increased internet access costs
- IEP’s will be done by teleconference
- Evaluations must be completed by May 4th or they will roll onto next year.

Updates for the Week...
I will be on campus on Monday, April 20th from 11 - 1:00 pm handing out Chromebooks to students if you need anything. Please let me know if you are stopping by, all visits should be less than 15 minutes.
- 2020-2021 Scheduling - Gemma is working on the master schedule for next year. We are going to be pushing out the elective slidedeck to students this week and opening up the window for them to choose their electives.
- Tentative Assignments have now been pushed back to April 30th.
- All teachers are to begin inputting scores from assignments into Homelink. It is recommended to keep the scores at 0%, but important to have data on work completion/progress. We are officially Credit/No Credit for the 4th quarter.
- Keep up the calling by phone to students. It works! 3-5 calls a day, keep connecting with our Toro Families.
- EOY: we are working out the details for End of the Year procedures including something for our 8th graders (don't tell).
Please don't hesitate to call, text or email as needed if you have any questions or concerns. I got to jump on some Zoom calls last week and it was AMAZING getting to see our kids. Thank you all for everything you are doing.
Stay safe, stay inside, stay well,
Chris
