Happy Friday, Lil Steamer Families!

Lil Steamer Families --
We hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving break and have recharged for the final stretch of the first semester.
I'm excited to announce that our House Rewards system for students has been going AMAZING! Our ambassadors handle all of the inventory and deliveries for students who spend their positive behavior points at our school store. You can view all of our current items available in the school store at the Lil Steamers House Store.
Also, just a friendly reminder to have students bring hats, gloves, and coats as the winter weather gets colder (even on days when it is warmer). Students can always take layers off at recess if they get too hot, but they cannot put layers on that they did not bring to school!
Have a wonderful weekend,
JAGH

Finding time to take care of your own needs can be a challenge for busy parents and caregivers, especially around the holidays. Self-care is key for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health. Here are a few simple activities to try if you have a few minutes:
1. Enjoy a moment of music. Put on your favorite song!
2. Hydrate to feel great. Take a break and have a glass of cold water. Getting enough water daily helps our brains and bodies stay healthy. It’ll help you feel energized and ready to take on whatever comes next.
3. Pause and praise yourself. Take a moment and think about something that went well recently. What was it? How did it make you feel? Noticing and celebrating small victories helps us to thrive.
4. Take a breath break. Pausing to stretch and breathe can clear your mind. Inhale a big breath and shrug your shoulders. Exhale and let your shoulders fall. Try again, this time reaching up with your arms as you inhale and letting them fall as you exhale. Try it a few more times.
5. Send a terrific text. Sending kind words or just sharing them with someone you care about is good for you, too! Giving compliments helps us to notice and appreciate the good things that are happening all around us.
❄️Winter Concerts- Coming Soon!! ❄️
There will be separate concerts again this year- for K, 1, 2, and 3rd grades.
Only 4th and 5th graders who are in Band or Chorus will have a concert.
Please let Mrs. Anton know if you have any questions!

Help Support Our 3D Printing Lab
Throughout the last few years, FES has moved into the world of 3D printing. In the past, students have created animal, airplanes, and buildings to be 3D printed. 3D printed items have also become a unique part of our morning announcements as students may decorate the table on the screen as they see fit. This year, we implemented a house system into the greatest little elementary school in the universe which allows students to earn points based on their behavior. Students may then spend those earned points on a variety of prizes, such as a 3D printed item. Naturally, offering 3D printed prizes means we are printing a lot more and we are going through material faster. The button below is a link to an Amazon wishlist full of fun and creative filaments that we can use in our printers. When you purchase a roll on the list, it will ship straight to the school! You are not required to donate a roll, but any and all support is very much appreciated.
Thank you!!... And GOOO STEAMERS!!
