Student Service's Corner-National Nutritional Month
March is National Nutrition Month
Healthy eating in childhood and adolescence is important for proper growth and to prevent various health conditions.
It is important to eat a healthy balance of a variety of fruits, veggies, wholegrains, fat-free or low-fat dairy. Also important is a variety of proteins.
Eating healthy can help you achieve a healthy body weight and prevent from developing health conditions such as:
High Blood Pressure
Heart Disease
Type2 Diabetes
Cancer
Cavities
Eating a healthy breakfast is important because it can improve cognitive function (memory) and improve your mood.
Hydration may also improve cognitive function which is important for learning so drinking plenty of water and non-sugar drinks is important throughout the day.

What is an energy drink?
usually a beverage that contains caffeine, added sugar and other additives and legal stimulants such as guarana, taurine, and L-carnitine. These stimulants can increase alertness and energy as well as increase blood pressure, heart rate and breathing.
