First Grade

First grade wants to thank its amazing families for the generous apple donations for “Apple Week”. You made learning science fun and delicious!

Now in science we will move on to learning about the Earth’s surface.

In math, we are learning about addition and subtraction facts to 20. Students have been using related facts, number lines, doubles, near doubles, and making ten strategies to solve problems. Continue to practice at home!

Students have started the second reader for this year! Continue to practice sight words at home, adding new words from the homework sheet to words already known to build fluency and confidence. Students need to read EVERY night and record the pages or books on the homework sheet.

Second Grade

Science-we just finished our rocks and soil unit. Now we are heading into learn about weather, seasons and temperature.

Math-we finished correlating odds and evens, arrays, and repeated addition number sentences. Next, we will be explaining how addition and subtraction work using various strategies.

Social studies-we have learned map skills and vocabulary. We are soon to discover why and how our U.S. Constitution came to be.

Reading-we will be starting unit 2 learning about animals and nature with a comprehension strategy to make, confirm, and revise predictions about how animals survive.

Special Thanks

Mrs. Brules second grade class wants to give a special thanks to tractor supply. Every year Mrs. Brules class incorporates scarecrows into their classroom academics durring fall. This year tractor supply donated two hay bails so that her students could eventually make scarecrows!
Big picture

Third Grade

Third grade is having a fabulous time learning about matter in science with many hands on activities and experiments. During math time, we are continuing to deepen our understanding of multiplication and division with a variety of strategies. Please practice multiplication facts at home every day. In social studies, we are learning about our great government and how it works from who the leaders are to what their jobs entail. In ELA, we continue to grow as independent successful readers. We are looking for volunteers to help with various activities throughout the year. If interested in volunteering, please contact the front office. Thank you for your continued support.

Fourth Grade

4th grade is working towards mastery in multiplication of 1 x 3 digit numbers and 2 x 2 digit numbers. It is highly encouraged for all students to practice their multiplication facts nightly. Science is leading us to explore the relationship of our moon, earth, and sun. We will also be observing the differences between erosion and weathering on earth and classifying rocks- igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary. 4th graders will be asked to find the theme of a story during reading. Students will learn to provide a detailed statement/summary of the theme by using evidence from the text. Students are working hard to be model citizens and earn house points!

Segundo grado
