YRS! (Year round school)

Does it help students get a better education?

Types of YRS!

YRS or Year-round school has 3 different types. There is the 45-15,60-20,or 90-30 day plans. The most popular type is the 45-15 day plan. That means that students go to school for 45 days and then get 3 weeks off.

Benefits of YRS!

In 2007, 3,000 YRS schools enrolled 2,000,000 more kids than traditional school in the U.S. alone. In YRS, you still go 180 school days but its stretched out over the whole year. This eliminates the summer shut down that we all get. President Obama even said "The challenges of the new century demand more time in the classroom."
