TEKSBank Canvas Course
The district has a subscription for the TEKSBank item bank from Region 10. A Canvas integration, called TEKSBank Classroom, is now also available with our subscription. This is another tool our teachers can add to their toolbelt.
- It allows you to create activities (quizzes, assessments, etc.) within Canvas by selecting questions from the TEKSBank item bank.
- There are many different question types that are available, including interactive options, and there are a healthy number of questions to choose from.
- Many questions are available in both English and Spanish.
- There are passages available for ELAR/SLAR in English and Spanish as well.
- You can only use the questions in the item bank. You CANNOT create your own questions.
- Students take the assessment right within Canvas. They do not need to login to any other program. It is much like taking a Canvas quiz.
- You add the activity as an external tool when creating an assignment.
- Data is housed in Canvas for teachers to review.
- The data views will provide an overview of how your students are performing on each standard and for each activity.
- It DOES NOT export into Eduphoria, but the tool can be valuable for formative assessments/exit tickets.
- Currently, most questions are available for grades 2 and up. They are working on Kinder and 1st grade content, but it is in the beginning stages.
This tool is now live for teachers in Canvas. A TEKSBank Classroom option is available in the course navigation of all Canvas courses. Resources are available in Level Up. The resources include videos and how-to guides that walk-through content creation, assigning within Canvas, the student experience, and more. An overview video is available in Level Up on the TEKSBank Classroom Resources landing page. You can also view it through this direct video link.
Kids Heart Challenge begins on February 14th
