Important Information for the Week
Grade 1 - 6 Holiday Concert
So far we only have a few classes signed up - about 14 minutes worth of concert items. I'm hoping this isn't all! Please go to: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YcDpjLo6fix_UQzaUcdJ0LkhwaU4yLgWOPrA6B-qcV0/edit?usp=sharing to sign up for your class by the end of the day on Monday. We will then work on the order of presentations, hoping to keep it all to about an hour.
Budget Letters
We have finally got our school budget! I'll be putting budget letters into your mailboxes on Monday. Please note that your budget for the year, as well as what you've spent to date will be listed. It is VERY important that you keep about $50 - $75 for the end of the year which will be what you use for start up.
Dismissal at the end of the day
As discussed at the PA day, please make sure that you walk your class down and outside at the end of each day - but this should happen at 3:20, not before. One more note - it appears some classes are getting outside the doors, but then stopping - causing a bottle neck behind them. For those primary classes that meet parents for sign out, please find a spot AWAY from the north or south doors, so that classes can get out and parents will also be standing away from the door. If you establish a regular "pick up" spot (for example by the corner of the swing set railway ties) then parents can always meet you there.
Festive Fridays
Your Student and Staff Morale Committees are busy getting ready for a great month of December. More information to follow soon - but Festive Fridays and other exciting events are coming your way.
School Council/School Arts Experience
I had a chance to meet with artist Alice Vander Vennen last week. We have firmed up the plans to have a full school visual arts experience the week of January 21st. We will be creating 40 large fish from gathered material, that will then be hung from the ceiling in the Den. More information will come - we'll be looking for volunteer hands, sewing machine sewers and hand sewers to help with this amazing project. A huge thank you to School Council for matching school funds to provide this amazing experience to our students. If you have other ideas for hands-on arts experiences for our school, please let me know.
