Leadership Gainesville Students Visit State Capitol

GHS students Gabby Brasher, Alfredo Moreno, and Jenny Liu are spending some time in Austin at the Capitol Tuesday and Wednesday, visiting with Representatives and attending hearings. These students, along with Mary Gerken, are members of the 2017 Leadership Gainesville class. We are thankful to the Chamber of Commerce for providing this educational experience for these students!

"I Care" Parent Fair

The first "I Care" Parent Fair was organized by District leadership to promote parent involvement in our schools and to offer an educational opportunity. Dr. Brasher welcomed the crowd and discussed the importance of communication, community involvement, and a unified vision. The elementary PTO groups generously donated more than $700 in gift cards that were given away at the end of each session and each attendee and their children were provided pizza. Thank you to the numerous community members, businesses and teachers who provided a breakout session and helped make this first parent fair a success! More pictures are available on our GISD facebook page.
