Bus Driver Appreciation Week

OPES is celebrating Bus Driver Appreciation Week next week! (February 11-15th). Help us honor our bus drivers by sharing a kind note or message with our drivers.

Did you Know?

Our school cafeteria recently received a score of 100% from DHEC during a recent inspection. Congratulations to our Student Nutrition Staff for doing such a wonderful job!

Box Tops Collection

It is time to show OPES some love! Our spring Box Top Contest is under way! Clipping Box Tops is an easy way to help earn cash for our school. Each one is worth 10¢ for our school! Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products. All you have to do is clip them and send them to school.

Our contest will run until February 14th, 2019. The Homeroom class with the highest amount of Box Tops sheets will win a special prize! Be sure to label with Teacher's name/ Grade and start sending them in today!

"Freezin' for a Reason!"

Mr. Gervais will be the administrator making the plunge this Saturday as we support the Special Olympics through the Polar Plunge. Come join us at 12pm to him jump in the cold water at Baxter YMCA.

STEAM Literacy Night

Thank you to all the families that joined us for our STEAM/Literacy night based on our One School One Book, Frindle!

Please take a moment to give feedback through this survey to help us plan for next year. STEAM/Literacy Night 2019 Survey

Kids Heart Challenge

Get Ready! Our Kids Heart Challenge (formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart) is coming soon! This is your chance to show heart and be a Heart Hero by learning about heart health, spreading the word and raising funds to help save lives. We will kick off our event on Feb. 14th. All students and staff are encouraged to wear RED that day! Students can go to heart.org/kidsheartchallenge to begin registering and raising money for this event. Any student that registers online will receive a free glow in the dark wristband just for signing up! Thank you for your support of our students, our school, and the American Heart Association.

Our students are invited to join us as we make the No Place for Hate Promise at OPES
