Activities Resume
Tips for a good resume:
1. Include school activities, community activities (include your volunteer work), job experience, and any honors or awards.
2. Type your resume using a readable font. It looks more professional.
3. Organize well using specific titles
4. Remember you are giving specific, factual information. Do not make it to wordy or long. Usually, one page is a good length.
The activities resume at educationquest.org is a great tool to use to create a good resume. You will enter in your profile information and the activities resume will give you different formats that you can use. We started working on the activities resume during your 10th grade year on College Access Day.

Applicants will be judged on:
- Scholarship
- Leadership
- Financial need.
Students do not have to have family members as a member of the Elks Foundation. More information and applications are found at enf.elks.org/mvs. The deadline to apply is November 27th.
DAR Good Citizens Scholarship
The Daughters of the American Revolution have a scholarship contest for high school senior students. The scholarship contest will go through steps including school, local, state, and national levels. Awards start at $250 at the state level up to $5,000 at the national level. Students are selected based on the four qualities of dependability (which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality); service (which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others); leadership (which includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility); and patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation).
Students will first complete this short application for the school. Once you are selected by the school, you will need to complete additional requirements for local competition including 2 letters of recommendation and a timed 550 word essay. The application for the school is due on November 29th at 2:00 p.m.
