Valentine's Update

We are happy to still be able to share valentines with classmates, but we are adding a few precautions to make this process as safe as possible. Your teacher has likely informed you of the needed requirements but wanted to remind families of a few. First of all, there is no food/candy allowed. This has been in place for multiple years now, but a friendly reminder doesn't hurt. Next, please send the cards in early enough to sit out at least a day. In most cases, your teacher has already communicated these dates with you. Finally, we will use hand-washing and/or sanitizing prior to passing out the valentines. Thank you all in advance for working with us to keep students safe while still having some sense of normalcy on this day of kindness.

Attending All Meetings

As many of you have likely seen recently, there has been some additional attention paid to live interactions between students and teachers. While this is fantastic, it does require more commitment from both school and home too. It is our hope to see all students at all meetings. Any time we can provide services to our students directly we feel quite fortunate, so please have students attend the meetings that are offered throughout the day.

In addition, students in attendance should stay for the entire meeting, leaving only once they are dismissed by the teacher or staff member running the session. If there is a technical challenge, please email the person running the meeting promptly to explain the situation.

Superkids Online Information for K-2 Parents

Dear Parents,

Superkids is one of the reading and writing programs we use at school in kindergarten, first, and second grades. It has an online component students can use at home. If you have a K-2 student, today you should have received an email from the Superkids Reading program inviting you to create an account. Students can access Superkids through this parent created account.

Superkids uses animal icons as passwords. Your classroom teacher will let you know which animal icon to use for his/her password. Click HERE for an info sheet on how to login to Superkids. Teachers may not be requiring use of the Superkids app at this time and it is okay to wait to follow the account set-up instructions until your child is asked to use Superkids. If you did not receive the email (only 1 parent did and we are happy to add additional parents), please email jlilley@awrsd.org to get an account.

Show Your Support For JRB Staff In February

To Spread our appreciation and love for the JRB Staff and all their hard work and commitment, we wanted to decorate the school with colorful hearts in the week leading up to Valentine's Day. Hearts were sent home already, but if you have misplaced yours or want to do more than one, please feel free to select from the ones below. Have your child decorate the sheet, or make their own design and return them to their homeroom teacher.

Cohort B- turn in finished hearts on February 5th (Friday)

Feel free to return hearts early as well.
