News from this week
Dear Parents,
Thank you to all of those who dressed in the different colors for Exceptional Children's week! We finished up the book Wonder which is a great book about a boy with a severe facial deformity. It teaches such wonderful lessons about kindness and acceptance of others, despite our differences. The students got to use their creativity to draw their faces in the theme of Wonder and to pick their favorite precept, or saying. I will put these together to hang in the classroom and will send them home at the end of the year.
If you have not yet filled out and turned in your student preference form (blue form) which was in last week's Friday Folder, please make sure to so as soon as you can. They are due Monday, March 11. The administration uses these forms to help place your child in the best classroom for them in upcoming year.
Below is the DA schedule below for next week.
Tues. March 12th Science DA
Wed. March 13th Social Studies DA
Other important dates for next week:
Wednesday March 13th is Picture Day!
March 15th is our Book Fair Buying Day!
If you are planning ahead, Field Day for 4th grade is May 3rd from 8:30-10:30.
Please make sure your child continues to work in Education Galaxy 20 minutes a day. I will continue to assign weekly homework to help your child practice their reading skills. I have also started assigning Math review work to practice the skills they have already learned. Even if they finish and assignment, please feel free to have them practice other subjects as well. It is a great resource to help your child practice for Milestones and District Assessments.
