A Message from the Director
TVA Families,
We are now more than halfway through the first grading period or a quarter of the way into the semester. By now students should have built habits to support their success in online learning. Even if their habits have gotten off the rails it's not too late to get back on track.
Students in K-5 should be around days 25-30 in their learning. This may require working a little ahead of live lessons to get ourselves on track.
We encourage students in grades 6-12 to be submitting assignments and tests two days ahead of due date. This allows the teacher to not only get the assignment but also grade it prior to the due date. We have learned that this helps students stay on pace. This also builds a proactive approach to what they are doing and structures their learning. Of course students can work farther head than that.
Struggling with getting back on track? Our Success Coaches Mrs. Lorenz and Mrs. Lipniskis as well as our Special Education teacher Mrs. Henderson are also here to help. Students can meet with them virtually or come on-site to meet with us.
Together we are stronger. Please let us know what we can do to support you.
Have a great weekend and a great week.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kevin Zeck & the TVA Staff
Each week we will showcase TVA Students of the Week. Students are chosen based on their online performance with staying on pace and making good academic progress. We are excited to celebrate our student successes and we hope this helps you also connect in some ways as well.
Ryan Daniel - TVA Student of the Week
Ryan Daniel has been with TVA since it opened in Fall of 2021. He is a 7th grade student and said, "I chose to go to TVA because I do better in my classes when I can take my time and learn at my own pace." His future plans include aspirations to create and test video games. Outside of school Ryan also likes to swim and skateboard. Some things that people don't know about me are that I'm a good swimmer and skateboarder. Ryan will be part of the graduating class of 2028.
Storm Nowinski - TVA Student of the Week
Storm Nowinski is a 9th grade student in her second year with TVA. She states, "I like TVA because I don't feel overwhelmed with so much to do at one time. I make sure I get my work done and do the best I can." After high school she hopes to work with in a career involving animals. Building off those aspirations she has a pet snake that she cares for at home. Storm is set to graduate with the class of 2026.

This year, the Duneland Schools will share information that pertains to opportunities our students may be interested in outside of school on a special page on our website. These available opportunities are offered by not-for-profit partnerships and organizations within our school district boundaries and local communities. Click the link below to learn more.
