A Note from the Principal
Hi, Centennial Families!
I hope that my email finds you and yours doing well!
K-5 Student Academic Growth Reports Coming Home This Week or Next Week!
This week, our teachers and our leadership team are meeting to review students' reading and math growth. K-5 teachers will be sharing a report with you about how your child is progressing this week or next week. If you have questions or concerns about your student's progress, please contact your child's teacher.
Your active involvement and daily support make a world of difference to the success of your children; thank you!
NAEP Testing for 4th Grade on Wednesday, Feb. 16
Centennial ES has been selected to represent schools across Oklahoma and the nation by participating in the 2022 administration of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students in the United States know and can do in various subjects.
It is administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), within the U.S. Department of Education.
Students will participate in mathematics and reading assessments. Each student will be assessed in one subject only. National, state-level, and some district-level results will be released as The Nation’s Report Card.
Big temperature jumps coming tomorrow-Thursday...Remember to Bundle Up!
- Bundle Up Wednesday & Thursday: The temperature is predicted to fluctuate from 71 degrees on Wednesday to a low of 19 degrees on Thursday!

Centennial PTO News
Centennial’s Annual Check Writing Campaign and the Change Wars are back!
- Stampede of Giving will began on Monday, February 14th and will go through Wednesday, February 23rd. ALL money raised through our Stampede of Giving fundraiser stays at Centennial! It’s our easiest fundraiser of the year! Simply go to the centennialpto.org website and look for the Stampede of Giving icon. You may send cash donations to the front office, write a check, or you may give online.
No amount is too small or too large! All contributions are tax deductible.
School Wide Rewards
- Our goal is $10,000! All money fulfills the grade-level team's wishlists for their students!
- If we meet 50% of our goal, every student will receive popsicles during recess!
- If we meet 100% of our goal, students will have an Xtreme Animals Assembly!
This year, Change Wars is a friendly competition between each grade level at Centennial.
Change Wars will ONLY be February 14th-17th.
- The kids love it and 100% of donations go directly back to our school.
- Change buckets will be placed at the entrance of each grade level pod for students to drop their change in on their way to class.
- The winning grade will receive donuts and an extra recess!
- Check your piggy banks, wallets, and even couch cushions and send your loose change – or even dollar bills!
There will also be 4 Spirit Days during Change/Dollar Wars.
These are just fun dress up days to help you remember to bring your change!
- Monday, February 14th – Valentine’s Day (wear pink, red or your favorite Valentine’s shirt)
- Tuesday, February 15th – Favorite Team Day
- Wednesday, February 16th – Tie Dye Day
- Thursday, February 17th– Hat Day
February 22, 2022- TWOSDay Tuesday!

Regardless of participation, we appreciate you and your support – whether it is donating financially, donating your time, or just the support you give Centennial in your homes. We would not be the school we are today without supportive parents like you!
