Phase II: Signing your Residence Hall License Agreement and Selecting your Meal Plan
Below is a video outlining how to complete Phase II.
Phase III: Roommate Matching
Additional Housing Options for Fall 2016 Housing Selection
Gender Inclusive Housing @ Worcester State University
Gender inclusive housing is defined as a housing option in-which two or more students may share a multiple-occupancy suite or apartment, in mutual agreement, without regard to a student's sex or gender. Gender inclusive housing supports the Universities non-discrimination policy and fully commits to the principles of social justice with respect to sexual orientation, sex, gender, and gender identity.
Worcester State University discourages students of any sexual orientation who are in a relationship from living together in a residence hall housing unit. It is YOUR choice if you want to tell your parents or guardian about your decision to live in a gender-inclusive housing option. Residence Life and Housing encourages you to talk with your parents or guardian about your housing choice so that they can be in support of your decision.
Gender inclusive housing will never be forced upon a student. If a vacancy occurs in a room, the room may no longer be treated exclusively as a gender inclusive space. The remaining occupants may pull in a student to maintain the gender neutrality of the room or the Residence Life and Housing will assign a student to the room based on biological sex assigned at birth.
Current Residents Applying for Gender Inclusive Housing:
· Each student must pay their $150 non-refundable Housing Deposit prior to January 29th.
· Each student must sign their Residence Hall License Agreement and select their Meal plan for 2016-2017 prior to February 15th.
· Each student must complete the Additional Housing Option Form for Fall 2016 prior to February 15th.
· Students must include the names of all Gender Inclusive Roommates in the form.
· A review of requests will be conducted by the Office of Residence Life and Housing. Residence Life may reach out to students to discuss expectations and gather additional information.
· Students will select their space prior to February 22nd through a scheduled group time with Residence Life and Housing.
