Dan Quackenbush won the NFTE New England Regional Business Plan Competition this past Wednesday in Boston. His business, "What the Fish?" is an app that identifies fish you catch and provides information about the fish (regulations etc.) He won $1,500 and an all-expense paid trip to NYC in October where he will present in the national competition. He did an amazing job and was treated like a star afterwards. Many local entrepreneurs attended and were impressed with Dan and his app. Congratulations Dan!
Student Activities
SADD - WAVE Club 2017-2018 Recap!
KT SADD- WAVE club had a very successful season. The club had the most members yet and are working on ways to encourage more students to join. The WAVE- (We Are The Voice club) was involved in fundraising, community service and supporting the entire school community. The students have great ideas to bring wellness programs into the school and encourage school spirit with school wide events. The club will be hosting a WAVE recruiting party in Sept 2018 as we encourage students to become an active supporter of our great school.
KT- Vip fundraiser- The fundraiser involved students selling tickets for a drawing to choose the KT VIP. Student would like to use the money to bring in interactive and dynamic wellness programs for the student body to attend. It was a great success and the club will be holding another KT VIP event at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.

Boy's Volleyball season recap!
The Keefe Tech Boys’ Volleyball team is having a great season, going 11-5 so far and qualifying for the state tournament for the first time since 2012. Led by Captains Wanelger Guzman and Sean Lammerding, the Bronco’s have had a tremendous season scoring come from behind victories against Fitchburg, Doherty, and league rival Assabet Valley Tech. Sean is leading the way with 144 kills placing second all-time in that statistic and Wanelger has over 100 assists this season. One surprise this season has been the rise of senior Marcus Vaz who is new to the sport but is leading the team in serving percentage. Other contributors include senior captain Alex Brizuela, hitter Caio Gravina, setters Iam Rodas and Angel Brizuela and defensive specialists Jonathan Soares and Lucas DaSilva. Coach Matt Warren is optimistic about the future of the team as several underclassmen are returning next year.
Sign ups are happening for Fall Athletics!
Attention football players: All returning players must see Coach Marini in the gymnasium to update their contact information. Any new players who would like to sign up, needs to see him as well.
For all those interested in cross country next fall, there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, June 4th, right after school in room 220.
Golf sign-ups will be held during lunches this week. See Mr. van Luling or Ms. Petro with questions.
