Mrs. Karst's Memo

This is the FINAL newsletter for this school year!

With only three days left of this amazing school year, we congratulate the 5th-grade students for their growth as leaders here as Stony Creek Mustangs. We wish them well as they move forward in their learning and leadership.

Planning has already started for the 2022-2023 school year! If your K-4th grade student will NOT be returning to Stony Creek for the next school year, please email Melinda Atwood at melinda_atwood@nobl.k12.in.us. She will get you the instructions to start the withdrawal process. Thanks so much for your help with this.

This summer we ask that you help make sure all our Mustangs read, read and read some more! The MFC purchased a book for every student that they brought home last week for keeps! Thank you, MFC! Read together when you can, and practice math facts to keep those mathematician skills sharp as well.

Important Dates

Here are some important dates to put on your calendar:

  • July 28 from 4:00-6:00 we will have a Meet the Teacher event

  • August 1 is the first student day next fall

  • August 10 at 6:00 or 6:45 is parent orientation night

Summer Reading Challenge

We have an exciting new summer reading challenge for our Stony Creek students! Current K-4 students will be receiving a Summer Reading Calendar and stickers to track their summer reading in June and July. Students are encouraged to read for at least 20 minutes, five days a week. Please look for these calendars in your child’s backpack next week. All students who return their calendars next school year by August 5, 2022, will receive a prize and will be entered in a raffle to win some amazing larger prizes! Happy reading!

Library News

Thank you to all who donated to the used book sale. Our goal was for students to get many great books for summer reading. Speaking of summer, Hamilton East Public Library is hosting a summer reading program called Oceans Of Possibilities.

Cold food choices can include - PBJ, Yogurt, Ham or Turkey Sandwich, or an Anytimer Lunch Kit. All food items are first come first serve, but every student will have a choice of a hot or a cold item to choose from.

Mustang Family Circle (PTO) News

The Stony Creek Elementary School PTO would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 2022 Carnival sponsors and volunteers for supporting the Spring Carnival on May 20th. Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of families were able to enjoy games, music, food, prizes, and many other fun attractions.

Your sponsorship and the countless volunteers helped make the event enjoyable for everyone. This is something that not only benefited those who were able to attend but more importantly, the learning opportunities this carnival funds for Stony Creek Elementary School.
