Help Decorate the Sunflower School Christmas Tree
Our tree is bare!!
We need your help to decorate our school Christmas tree with our Game On theme. Students may bring any themed ornament to school December 1 to help decorate our school tree. The ornaments can be purchased or made but should be game themed. They could be board games, game pieces, etc. Anything that is within the theme will work. Students will be invited to hang their ornament on the tree with Mrs. Wokutch. Be sure to put your name on your ornament so that we can return it to you.
We are also looking for an amazing tree skirt to go with our theme. If you have something that might work, we would love to borrow it for the holiday season.
There are some sample ornaments below. We look forward to seeing all of the fun ornaments the students bring.
7 Mindsets-Monthly Challenge
Live to Give
The Live to Give Mindset teaches the importance of serving others while maximizing our own potential. It tells us that abundance in life is a cycle; in order to receive love, respect, and financial security, we must first learn to give those things to others. This mindset also teaches us that the greatest gift we can ever give is to find and leverage our unique genius to maximize our positive impact on the world, knowing that good things will be returned to us in kind. In the lessons for this mindset, we guide students to think about the impact they want to make by stretching themselves, making a difference, receiving gracefully, and considering the legacy they want to leave.
Our Mindset Challenge for Live to Give is for students to create a "birthday speech". This activity challenges students to consider what kind of legacy they want to create. Years from now when they are all grown up, what would they want their parents, siblings, children, friends, and coworkers to say about them? What story would they want their loved ones to tell? Have your student come up with a story for at least three people! Click here for the activity sheet!
If you send in a picture of your student's completed activity to Ms. Finson (jeri_finson@usd368.org), they will earn their class a Sunfloweropoly scratch off ticket!
