What does Nicotine do?

Nicotine is a substance in cigarettes that make you really addicted to it. It makes you feel as if you can not live without cigarettes and you need it to survive or in other words, you "crave" it. It makes it harder for you to quit smoking. So why would you start if you knew you couldn't stop? Don't start smoking, it isn't as cool as you think. There are also some side affects! (Examples in the picture)

How likely is it to die of smoking?

Smoking may not kill you but, the effects can.

Over 18% of deaths are from smoking. 69 chemicals out of 4800 are known to cause cancer.


Interesting fact...

Some kids at the age of 13 start smoking and end up having tons of cancer and REALLY bad health issues. In some places there may even be a 2-3 year old smoker! Have you ever seen a baby smoke? What has happened to our world?

What does smoking do to you?

Smoking gets a lot of carcinogens going into your body and then it can give you cancer. It can give you a tumor in your lungs or any other important part in your body. Tumors lead to cancer which can be really deadly if you have smoked a lot in the pass.


Why are cigarettes not illegal?

Cigarettes make up a lot of tax for our country. We make about 2 million dollars off of cigarettes and/or more than 2 million! The money from people buying cigarettes goes to things like the army, government, etc.
