She was famous because she was the queen of England and the first of many Elizabeths to come. She was the daughter of king Henry the 8th. She was declared as illegitimate but later reinstated. She took over England when her sister died. Elizabeth ended the war with France and united the nations through marriage. She was known as the "Virgin Queen" for being unmarried for so long.
It has been rumored that she helped write some of Sakspeare's plays.
