Charles Darwin
The Father of Evolution
Early Life
Charles Darwin was born February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury England. Charles was a solitary child and would often go on exploritary walks, collecting things as he went. He had four older siblings, three sisters and a brother. His father was a well renowned physician and his mother tended to the children. Charles' mother died when he was only eight of stomach cancer. After his mother's death Charles' father worked even harder than ever at work, leaving his two eldest daughters to tend to the house while he was out. In his early teens collecting became one of Charles' major hobbies, as well as hunting. At age 16 his father sent him to the University of Edinburg where he would go to study with his older brother.
