Holiday Baskets
The Holiday Gift Basket program has supplied food and gifts to needy families in our Roaring Fork Valley for over 40 years. Run totally by volunteers, the program is a wonderful community effort. Numerous individuals, groups and schools participate. Around 250 families and approximately 1,000 people are served.
Aspen Elementary has participated in this program for many years. We will do this again this year. A tree with gingerbread tags will be in the school lobby starting Nov.8th. If you would like to participate, students (with parent permission) and parents can take off a tag from the tree, buy the designated gift, and bring it back to school by the Nov. 28th deadline.
Please do NOT wrap the present and please attach the gift tag to the present. There will be a box in the lobby to deposit the gifts.
You may learn more or donate online by clicking HERE.
Winter is here!
The lost & found is overflowing. Please put names in everything and come check out the lost & found if you are around school!
Pitkin County Library Cards
Why should my child have a library card...
1. Having a library card gives a child a sense of belonging to the library.
2. With a library card, a child will have access to the computers at the library and free wi-fi connection, online databases, audio books and more!
3. Having a card and visiting the library often increases the opportunity to learn to read.
4. Children with a library card are more likely to see the library as a positive place and form a relationship with the librarians that allows them to feel comfortable asking for assistance with information.
5. Having a library card adds to the enthusiasm a child feels for the library.

Aspen Elementary SKIERS
At AES our essential agreements guide the way we behave and interact with others throughout our school in every setting. This year, we've adopted the SKIER acronym as a way to frame our essential agreements school wide. We hope that you will reinforce these positive attributes with your child at home.
