St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 2 | 29 JULY 2021
Ever-generous God,
You inspired St Mary MacKillop to live her life faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
and constant in bringing hope and encouragement
to those who were disheartened, lonely, or needy.
With confidence in your generous providence and joining with St Mary MacKillop, we ask that you grant our request….(name your request).
We ask that our faith and hope be fired afresh by the Holy Spirit so that we too,
like Mary MacKillop, may live with courage, trust, and openness.
Ever-generous God, hear our prayer.
We ask this through Jesus Christ.
Amen.
From the Principal
Dear St Columba’s school community,
This week has been a very busy one for me personally as I attended a number of Leadership Days held by CEWA and Catholic Primary Principals Association. It was a great opportunity to connect with other schools and share the wonderful achievements of St Columba’s. A big thank you to our fabulous staff who stepped in while I was away ensuring everything continued to run smoothly at school.
A big congratulations to Isabella, one of our Year 6 students, who has been selected in the state tennis team to represent Western Australia. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to all her hard work. Well done, Isabella, and we wish you all the best!
A reminder that our much anticipated ‘Pyjama Day’ will be held next Tuesday, August 3, as part of our fundraiser for LifeLink. Everyone is invited to wear their pyjama’s, ugg boots or slippers on that day, with an aim to raise money for LifeLink. Please make sure your child brings a gold coin donation.
Good luck to our students as we begin the Catholic Performing Arts Festival. The festival will run over the next four weeks. Each class has been allocated a performance including dance, choral speech, drama and singing. Thank you to all our staff for the additional time they have put into these performances and to Mrs Louise McDonald for coordinating this event.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!
God Bless
Rebecca Clarke

Mary MacKillop Centre Advertisement
Dear Parents and Grandparents,
I am inviting anyone who may have “a little time" to donate their services in assisting at the Mary MacKillop Centre. For those who are not aware we are over the road from the school (The beautiful Heritage Building built in 1908). The sisters of St Joseph took over the School in 1914. Since then we have served at the School for over 70 years and still have strong links with the school and are very proud of the teachers, students and parents.
There are various tasks that need some attention at the Centre and we would really appreciate your help. I can promise that you will never be bored while helping out at the MMC. The Centre is a place of Peace, Calm and uplifting Spirit.
May God be with you and all of your families.

The fair is going to be your one stop shop for Christmas shopping, so make sure all your friends and family have it marked off in their calendars.
Big Thank you to Tori Filby for putting together a fabulous online application form for all stall holders to apply. I appreciate your help!
