Be Kind Word of the Month - Be a Friend
"A friend is a gift you give yourself." - Robert Louis Stevenson
Gators, remember this month to keep kindness at the center of our school with the Be Kind Pledge Skill of the month, Be a Friend. Being a friend means being someone that motivates, inspires, and creates positivity in the lives of those around you. A friend is always there for you - through good times or bad. THE BE KIND CREW CHALLENGES YOU TO MAKE AT LEAST ONE NEW FRIEND THIS YEAR!

General Music News
Students in General Music classes have been celebrating the life and contributions of Martin Luther King, Jr. through music. The songs vary, depending on the grade level. A few selections are: "Keep Your Eyes on the Prize," "Shed a Little Light," "Back of the Bus," "Sister Rosa," "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," "A Kid Like Me," and, "Martin Luther King Had a Dream." In preparation of our annual CTA Goodman School Sock Hop, some grade levels learned about music, dance and history from the 1950's in America. In February, some grades will be focusing on music related to Black History Month, and, of course, we look forward to music and activities celebrating Valentine's Day and President's Day! Be sure to ask your child what they did and learned in their music classes!
