Week of February 28, 2021
From the Principal
CIMS Families -
Most of our students successfully completed their Math NWEA assessment over the last week. We are proud of their efforts and determination! Students will take the Reading NWEA Assessment the week of March 8th.
IN PERSON 6TH GRADERS AND ALL 7TH/8TH GRADERS: These students have all returned to the black/gold schedule. Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Friday are black cohort instructional days; Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Friday are gold cohort instructional days. Remember that instructional days are when students either come to school in person OR have their Zoom classes if they are 100% virtual. On their non-instructional days (or application days) our students should take their attendance through Canvas, visit each course on Canvas, and complete the work throughout the day at their own pace.
Health/Safety Procedures: Please continue to remind your student about the importance of wearing their mask correctly at all times during the school day. If your child or someone in your family is sick, please call our office to speak to our nurse about next steps to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Students Attending School IN PERSON Must Follow the CIMS Dress Code
Students (and Caregivers):
We appreciate your efforts to make sure you are meeting our dress code expectations when you attend school in person. We also realize that many factors may make following certain parts of the dress code more challenging right now than in typical school years.
Moving forward, please note that our school administration will be addressing dress code violations that present safety concerns and/or could disrupt the learning environment. Specifically, we expect that students:
Wear a mask that adequately covers your mouth and nose at all times
Wear clothing free from inappropriate or offensive language/imagery
Wear clothing that provides proper coverage from knees to shoulders
Wear safe footwear (feet must be secured with shoes that fasten in front and back)
Avoid wearing hats, hoods, head coverings, sunglasses, etc. in the school building
All outerwear must be stored in locker throughout the school day
Put cell phones, ear buds, headphones away upon entering the school building
CIMS School Administration reserves the right to modify and/or interpret the dress code to ensure a safe, productive learning environment is maintained. Failure or refusal to adhere to these expectations is subject to progressive consequences as outlined in the Student Success Handbook.
