On Monday we read the book "Iggy Peck Architect." It's a story about a little boy who loves creating buildings from found objects around his house, school, and nature. After hearing the story the children worked on their own building challenges in small groups. With Popsicle sticks, cups and small cubes they accepted challenges such as -- Build the tallest structure you can, build a structure with something sticking out of it, build a structure that balances on a single cube. Each time a structure collapsed the children burst into cheers - not for their successes but for their attempts.
