Dear Parents and Students,
-
One more week until Winter Break! Parents, please check Teacher Ease for your child's current grades. Once we return from Winter Break, we will have less than a month until Semester 1 Report Cards. At that time, students must be passing ALL of their classes in order to earn their 4 credits for Semester 1. An INC or INC+ is NOT a passing grade and will NOT earn credit. Finish strong, Cards!
We had a really great time showering Central Ave Elementary school with gifts and holiday cheer for Winter Wishes! Stay tuned for a video of the event next week.
We have a Spirit Week next week. See below.

Winter Wishes was a big SUCCESS!
In an effort to build community and promote selflessness, FPHS staff and students teamed up to spread some winter cheer for students at Central Ave Elementary School by giving each student a giftbag of goodies and a "Future Cardinal" t-shirt. Thank you, students, staff, families, and community partners for your generosity and enthusiasm! Stay tuned for a video of the event next week!

Cardinal Sports:
FPHS Bowling Team!
FPHS Boys Basketball got off to a great start!
12/07/21
Fife, Wa................The Franklin Pierce Boys Basketball team kicked off the 2021-'22 season with a league win over the Fife Trojans. Entering the contest, the host Trojans posted a 2-1 record on the season. The FP Cardinals seemed to pick-up right where they left off in 2021 with an electrifying performance by the most dominate backcourt in all of the City. Sophomore sensation, 6'1 guard Mason "the train" Thomas was simply unstoppable as he scorched through the Trojans defense in the 1st quarter, displaying his speed and strength with multiple And Ones on his way to 25 points on the night. The game was close through the first quarter but a late 16-6 run by the Cardinals to end half broke the game wide-open and the Cardinals to a halftime lead 46-21. Senior forward Nehemiah Weekly played big and strong in the middle for the Cardinals as he scored 8 points while grabbing 8 rebounds. Senior guard and returning league scoring leader Johnjohn Barbee did not disappoint fans. His two handed power slam mid-way through the 3rd quarter put the Cardinals up by 31 and the Trojans would never get closer. Johnjohn finished with game high 36 points and 11 rebounds. For the 3rd time in 4 seasons, the Cardinals opened their season with a freshman running the point guard position. This time it was Baby Barbee, 6'2 freshman Javon Barbee making his debut scoring 4 points, adding 4 steals and 3 blocks. Junior back up guard Jonah Harris-Coleman also making his varsity debut went 2 for 2 from behind the 3-point arc on his way to a career high 10 points. The Cardinals routed the Trojans 89-50. Next up for the Cardinals, home opener Friday, 12/10/21 7pm tipoff against Orting Cardinals.
Final Score: FP-89 FHS-50
Complete box score: Ja.Barbee-4; Coleman-10; Thomas-25; Jo.Barbee-36; Weekly-8; Starky-2; Bibbons-2; Marong-2.

Exposure | No Symptoms | No Testing | Not Vaccinated:
Students can return to school after 10 days without testing if they have not experienced symptoms.
