De isla a isla: Recycle for Puerto Rico Project

Many of us know first hand the rewards and challenges of island life and still have memories of Hurricane Iniki in 1992. As we know recovering from natural disasters is a process and takes time. The islands of Puerto Rico and Vieques are still very much in this process as they recover from the impact of Hurricane Maria. As a chapter, we would like to continue to support our hermanos boricuas.

To do this, our chapter will be working on a project to help fund raise for the Centro Paso Community Center in Aibonito, PR. In this project we will collect recyclables and redeem them at local redemption centers from December 1st, 2019-March 1st, 2020. The funds raised will be donated to the Centro Paso Community Center in Aibonito, Puerto Rico which provides after-school programs and other services for the community in Aibonito, PR. If you are interested in having your class participate, you can sign up via the link below and we will send you more information. This project is open to all teachers K-12 and higher-ed who are AATSP members and would like to have their class(es) participate.
