Witchcraft Among Us
by Keaton Mack, March 22, 1692
Betty, daughter of Reverend Parris has fallen under the powers of witchcraft. She could not move, supposedly flew and cries harshly when hearing the Lord's name. After being checked by a doctor who could find nothing physically wrong, Reverend John Hale was sent for. Hale has since confirmed the witchcraft.
"The devil's work is very precise," says Hale. "I am quite sure of this."
Although the witch's identity is not yet confirmed, it is suspected Tituba, Reverend Parris's Barbados slave, is the culprit. She may also have been bringing others from the town, with rumors of 4 more. These may possibly include Abigail Williams, Marry Warren, Sarah Good, Goody Osburn, Bridget Bishop, or more.
"Mister Reverend, I do believe someone else be witchin' these days" was a quote spoken by Tituba given to us by Reverend John Hale. "Abigail Williams also provided us with quite a lengthy list." said the Reverend.
The devilish acts involved chicken blood, a frog, and dancing. Reverend John Hale commented "This was very grave indeed." and "clear signs of the devil's acts."
The trial for witchcraft will begin next week on Tuesday, March 29, 1692.
