VISION & HEARING SCREENING
Each year during fire safety week, students learn about Fire Safety from members of the Hastings Fire Department. Even teachers get to join in in the fun!
DID YOUR STUDENT MISS BOTH PICTURE DAYS?
Cahill partners with Dan Rother which gives us the opportunity to provide parents an option for those students who missed both picture days. Parents can contact Dan directly to set up an appointment by November 18th (in order to make the yearbook deadlines) to go to his studio in Hastings to get their picture taken and we will process their image and order here at our office.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
When the temperatures start to dip into the 40’s and 50’s, we do require students to wear a light jacket or sweatshirt outside. When winter arrives, winter clothing will be required.

Throughout the year, there may be times that your child may be sick, need to go to medical appointments, etc. If your child is absent, please call the attendance line by 8:50 am at 651-480-72391.
Being on time to school is very important. If you are late to school, please check your student in at the main office.
DISMISSAL AND EARLY PICK UP
We understand that there are times when events occur that need to change dismissal plans. In those instances, it is recommended to have a note a day in advance, and the day of. We thank you for your advanced planning and communication. In the event that this is not possible, please call the office by 2:30pm.
In order to minimize interruptions to the classroom, students should not be picked up early unless it is an emergency. On those occasions when it is necessary to pick your child up during the school day, please go to the school office with your ID to sign your child out. The office secretary will call the classroom and have the student sent to the office.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL WINTER...PREPARE FOR A "SNOW DAY"
It is important that you have accurate phone numbers on file for your student with the school district. Although we are using a calling system to contact families in case of inclement weather, the district will still continue to post school delays or closings in the following ways:
Official school closing announcements will be made on Hastings KDWA Radio 1460, WCCO-Channel 4, KSTP-Channel 5, KMSP-Channel 9 and KARE-Channel 11 television and Hastings Public School Website.
