KCS AVID School Highlights: Career Magnet Academy
Year one implementation at CMA has been a huge success! Upon returning from AVID Summer Institute, the CMA AVID Site Team began utilizing strategies with their staff during professional developments. As the school year continued, the Site Team developed a professional learning plan to continue to embed AVID strategies in all content areas. Along with that, there was a focus on college awareness by having staff prepare college corners in their rooms as well as college gear Fridays for both staff and students. CMA, you've done an excellent work in your first year!
AUSTIN EAST AVID SENIORS
AVID Senior night at Austin East Magnet High School was held on April 23. At that time all 26 AVID Seniors had been accepted into at least one post secondary program. The evening highlighted many scholarships awarded both for athletics and academics. Students were awarded their medal to be worn at graduation to represent their time with the AVID Program at Austin East. Congratulations to Austin East AVID Seniors Class of 2019!
