BHS Parent Newsletter June 2021
A Word from Principal Miller
Bayside Community,
I cannot believe we only have a few weeks left of this school year. Hopefully parents are closely monitoring their child’s grades. Now is the time for parents to contact teachers, counselors, or administrators if they have concerns or would like to explore summer school opportunities. Summer School information is now available. Below is a list of our counseling team.

HSA Ms. Pearl
After serving the Bayside Community for the past 12 years I am transferring to the Renaissance Academy. I began my educational career at the Career Development Center (CDC) which was the original RA. I moved to Green Run HS in 1987 and spent 14 years. During my tenure at Green Run I started teaching night classes at Open Campus and then eventually took on the role of an evening administrator. I then moved to Landstown HS for 8 years. During my final days at Landstown HS I was asked to assist the new RA administrators with their master schedule. A few days later I got the call to replace Kay Thomas as Principal of Bayside HS since she was moving into the role of Director of Alternative Education at RA. I’m thrilled to again be filling her shoes. Know that I will not be a stranger here at Bayside and look forward to a strong working relationship with all beach schools through my work at RA. Once a Marlin, Always a Marlin.
Please be on the lookout for information regarding the return of textbooks and other materials to the school. A schedule will be provided for both Option 1 and Option 2 students. Students in grades 9-12 who are planning on returning to VBCPS next year will be keeping their assigned Chromebook. Seniors will be returning their Chromebook starting on Wednesday, June 9th.
Our graduation ceremony will be held at the amphitheater on Tuesday, June 15th at 7:30 PM. At this time students will be receiving six guest tickets. The Amphitheater will be opening their gates for ticket holders and graduates at 6:30 PM. Seating will be first come, first serve. Our PTSA is hosting an All-Night Graduation Celebration for our seniors at APEX in Towne Center on Tuesday night from 10:00 PM until 5:00 AM. Students who purchased senior packages have already paid for this event. Any seniors who are interested in attending and have not purchased a package need to see one of their Senior Sponsors – Ms. Blake, Ms. Eubanks, and Mr. Villanueva. Tickets for this event will cost $75.00. Students are encouraged to attend as this is their last opportunity to come together as a class before entering college or the workforce.
Do not hesitate to contact our counseling office, main office, or assistant principals as necessary. Also feel free to contact Ms. Michalle Holloway, Office Manager if you would like to speak with me.
Sincerely,
James D. Miller
Proud Principal
