Birth of the Wave
I’m sure all my fellow Gordon High School peers have heard something about this new organization we address as “The Wave”. This was started by Mr. Ben Ross a, social studies teacher.
Principal Owens says, “I wonder where Ben Ross is going with this project, but I have no reason to doubt his ability; he has never failed me before. Another faculty member, who prefers to remain unknown says, Ben Ross is an all around crazy man. I don’t understand this experiment, and I continue to question his teaching abilities. What do you think of Ben Ross wave ideas? Do you think it benefits our school, or hurt it? Let the Gordon Grapevine know your thought at http:/www.GordinGrapevine Newspaper.com. ( Pictured Ben Ross)
Welcome to The Wave----Or Else !
Dear Editors of the Grapevine this is a story I have written for The Grapevine. Don’t bother looking for my name because you won’t find it. I don’t want my friends or any other kids to know I wrote this. I’m a junior at Gordon High. Three or four days ago me and my friends heard about this thing called The Wave that all the seniors are getting into. We got interested. You know how all the juniors always want to be like the seniors
A bunch of us went to Mr. Ross’s class to see what it was. Some of my friends liked what we heard, but some of us weren’t sure. It looked like a dumb game to me.
When the class was over, we started to leave. But this senior stopped us in the hall. I didn’t know him, but he said he was in Mr. Ross’s class and asked if we wanted to join the wave. Two of my friends said yes and two said they didn’t know and I said I want interested.
This senior started telling us how great the wave was. He said that the more kids who joined, the better it would get. He said almost all the seniors at school had joined and most of the juniors too
My two friends who said they didn’t know at first changed their minds and wanted to join. Then the senior turned to me.”Aren’t you going to stick with your friends?” he asked.
I told him they were still my friends even if I didn’t join. He kept asking me why I didn’t want to join. I just told him I didn’t feel like it. Then he got mad. He said pretty soon people in The Wave wouldn’t want to be friends with non Wave members. He even said I’d lose all my friends if I didn’t join. I think he was trying to scare me, but it backfired on him. One of my friends said he didn’t see why anyone had to join who didn’t want too. My other friends agreed and we left.
Today I found out that three of my friends joined after some other seniors talked to them. I saw that senior from Mr. Ross’s class in the hall and he asked if I had joined yet. I told him I didn’t intend to. He said if I didn’t join soon it would be too late. All I want to know is: too late for what?

Wave Rattles Team Players
The group dictated by Mr. Ross, is definitely getting out of hand. You can prove it because we have witnessed football team members fight because of this. Brian and Deutsch were already in competition being first and second stream quarterback, but it took the wave for them to result their differences in violence. They were said to be fighting because Deutsch, second stream quarterback, was bad-mouthing The Wave. I’m sure this offended Brian, and it caused him to become violent. The fight was quickly broken up, but even after the fight Brian continued to yell, “Strength through community, Strength through discipline!”

No Salute ! No Seat !
According to a former Wave member, Laurie Saunders, this “classroom experiment” has become way out of hand. According to her fellow “peers” Saunders was making quite the scene. Saunders says, “All I wanted to do was sit with my friends, but I had to give the sign. I thought it was stupid, but Brian insisted I do it.” We asked Brian, a Wave monitor, what his thoughts about it were and all he said was, “All she had to do was give the sign, but instead she made a big deal out of it.” When Saunders argued with Brian everyone looked their way and wondered what went on. After the incident spectators said she stormed off walking. Due to this scene, Laurie made it clear that she wasn’t a part of The Wave, and had no intentions of joining.
