Canvas Updates and How To Videos
We encourage you to view the very short “How To” videos below around finding students work and submitting assignments. We also provided other support information for you and your student(s) for at-home learning. As always, don’t hesitate to reach out to teachers or the front office if you have any questions or need support.

Empower Update
We spent the week talking about gratitude. We are writing to someone we have gratitude for and are recording a video to tell that person. Ask your student about this very impactful activity.

We've brought back the joke of the week. If your child has a school appropriate joke they'd like to share, have them put in the joke jar in the main office. We read a joke every Thursday and Friday morning during announcements. We've also added a riddle challenge each Monday/Tuesday. A correct answer earns students a piece of candy. Congrats to the handful of students who got this week's riddle correct. As we approach the holidays, we will begin asking our 1st period classes to brainstorm ideas for the annual Door Decorating Contest. This year it will be a challenge to have both days collaborate on an idea and to complete it. This will be a great opportunity for them to transfer what they've learning in Empower.

Screenings and Return to School Protocols
Safety
Our students continue to do AMAZING with wearing masks. Please provide your student(s) with a cloth face covering everyday. Please avoid masks that contain a vent as research shows that those are more harmful than helpful. Please make sure the mask has at least 2 layers of fabric. Wearing a mask will be part of our dress code and MUST be worn at all times. Students will be provided safe, supervised mask breaks during the school day (outside). Also, every person entering our building will need to be temperature screened.
Please remind students to wear a mask before and after school. We ask that they have their mask on until they leave campus.
Snow Days
Typically, snow days are called when hazardous conditions make it unsafe to transport students to school and for Weld RE-4 employees to commute to work. Given the unique circumstances of this school year, we are adjusting our snow day procedures. Guiding our decision is a desire to maximize instructional time for those students in hybrid learning, while recognizing that mass distribution of devices to students in full-time learning is not possible overnight.
Students and staff in school full-time (currently all elementary schools) will have a traditional snow day. Learning will not occur off-campus.
Students and teachers in hybrid learning (currently all secondary schools) will continue off-campus learning. Whichever group (A or B) was scheduled to be at school that day will learn synchronously with their teacher and class. The off-campus group will proceed with asynchronous learning.
Meals will not be available for pick-up on snow days.
As with everything this year, there will be grace and understanding if, for example, the weather causes internet outages. When severe weather is predicted and a snow day is necessary, our goal is to send
